Baby Malcolm Update {Day 20}

It's time for an update on my nephew, Malcolm, who is starting his 4th week in the NICCU. You can read more of his story here, here and here.

The good news: Malcolm's PICC line is out now that he's shown he's able to ingest all his food. He is on no medication and has no IV lines. His oxygen is down to the lowest setting and he takes all of his food by bottle. 

The other news: Malcolm's heart rate is still higher than it should be. They think it will just take time and patience until his body matures a little more. That's not a bad thing (notice I called it the "other" news?), but it's hard on his family while he's still at the hospital.
