Barns of Benton County: Rusty Metal Roof
Wouldn't you love to hide out from the rain in this barn? Explore its nooks and crannies, smell the barn smells mixed with wet earth, hear the drops pounding and echoing on the metal roof.
Perhaps if you look and smell and listen hard enough, you could hear the barn tell its secrets from years gone by.
Perhaps.

I hadn't had that thought in years, Ellie. We had the "little barn" on our farm where the "babies" went when they were weaned from their mother. The loft had a full stairway up to it and I used to go up there and sit in the hay and read. I loved it on a rainy day with the rain pinging off the roof. Thanks for the memory-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Ellie!
ReplyDeleteI have always found the interior of old barns to be fun to explore. I love the smell of alfalfa and horses. Rain would make it just about perfect!

You can clearly tell from the rust of the metal roof that it was built many years ago. It looks like it was abandoned by the owner, or never given any attention at all. I think this old barn can still last a year or two because the metal roof is still installed, and it still looks sturdy despite the corrosion.
ReplyDeleteEven though it look so old, it’s impressive that it is still standing. It would be fun to explore the nooks and crannie, and listen to the rain drops pounding and echoing on the metal roof. However, I think it would be best to take some caution while you are inside of it. Just looking at roof, there is a high chance that it will collapse.

What a wonderful place to be in! I always find barns a romantic place, just like in the movies. Its rustic features complement the green surroundings beautifully. I can imagine myself lying on the grass while making a great story in mind. :) I just hope the barn will be restored, so it can last for more years.
