Aqua|Tangerine Mudroom|Laundry {31 Days of Moodboards}

Who doesn't want a pretty laundry room and a hard-working mudroom? Wouldn't that be lovely? So what if they had to share a space--it's all my imagination anyway. I started in a room with gray and white stripes, added a school locker for coats and shoes, and a pretty blue dresser for scarves, hats, dog leashes--whatever ends up needing to wait at the door.  The surface of the dresser would be a great place for a pretty bowl to catch keys and pocket change or to rest a purse or bag of groceries. I decided a stool (or two) would function as a place to perch while you put on your bright orange wellies (ha!) without taking up tons of space. I put in an indoor-outdoor rug in coral, but in real life that would live by the washer or in the center of the room and I'd put something boring and durable and effective for dirt-removing by the door.

For the finishing touches on the mudroom side of the room, I added a big orange mirror for last-minute hair and face checks as you run out the door. Then I added a pretty blue coat hook for extra bags or your favorite sweater that you don't want to lose in a locker.

The laundry portion of the space received a front-loading set of machines without a base so you could use the wood table top above as a folding surface. A set of stock cabinetry above the washer and dryer work to house soap and stain remover, as well as light bulbs and dog treats or any number of things! I included art work from Etsy (a simple "you are so loved" in orange on brown paper attached with a clothes pin) which would be a great place for those socks that always show up. There is also a fun orange laundry basket--and did you notice the blue glass knobs on the cabinet? Yeah, too little, I know. The blue mason jars could hold extra buttons or laundry detergent.

So I'm ready to move in! How about you? I would ask for two more things in this space to make it perfect--a sink and a coat closet.

Hope you're enjoying my 31 Days of Moodboards! You can submit ideas or problem areas you want me to tackle if you want. Have a great day!
