A Visit to Amana

While my husband is up to his elbows in dust from refinishing our floors, the boys and I are enjoying the week at Grandma's house. Which reminded me that I never posted about our trip to the Amana Colonies when Grandma & Grandpa visited us about six weeks ago.

The Amana Colonies were originally settled in 1855 and remained self-sustaining until the 1930s.

The Colonies are primarily a tourist destination now, known for their wine, cheese, baskets, candy, toys, antiques and other specialty shops.

Enjoy the tour!

Can I make one of these benches?

And I'll take this hutch, thanks!

Love that trunk!

Have a nice day!

  1. Love the color on that hutch! Looks like a fun place to visit. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Oooh. I love tours of neat places like this. Thanks for posting! I feel like I got a little vacation this morning. :)

  3. I love the Amana colonies and it has been too many years since I visited. It is always so much fun to visit in Fall too! xo Diana

  4. Cool. I love, love, love the hutch, and the rooster!
