Fun in the Sun

The day after our Fun at the Beach the boys and I headed over to spend some time at my Dad's house! We had a great time getting reacquainted with their Grandpa and Grandma Jan again, and playing with Jin, their 6-year-old grandson.

Dad and Jan set up a sprinkler and a slip 'n slide for the four boys to play with. There was also an area with sand toys and a little splash table for Josiah.

It took the boys a few tries to learn how to slip and slide.

Jared thought it was so much fun to dunk his head in the water! Cute little guy!

Our sweet boys had so much fun, laughing, giggling and playing.

Dad and Jan live on a hill in Camarillo. You can't see it in this picture, but where the hazy blue mountain ends is the ocean, which they can see from their back patio and yard.

They have a small vineyard in their terraced back yard, currently netted to keep the birds away from the nearly-ripe grapes. Dad and Jan are opening their own winery this fall!

There are tangerine trees on their property as well, and the boys enjoyed picking, peeling and eating several tangerines each!

I had to include this picture of the view from the kitchen sink. I should do another post with a tour of Dad & Jan's home--it's beautiful and they did most of the work themselves! However I don't have pictures for you, so that will have to wait for another day!

After playing for awhile, eating supper on the patio and enjoying a few tangerines, Dad had the boys help him split wood to make a fire.

Grandma Jan kept Josiah out of harm's way--the fire as well as the ax, not to mention the steep hill!

Then it was time for s'mores! Jin was a great help showing Jonathan and Jared how to roast their own marshmallows.

Yummy!

Josiah enjoyed his plain graham cracker just as much as if it had been a tasty treat!

Thanks so much for a fun afternoon at your house, Dad & Jan!
