Fortunately, when we arrange bookshelves or furniture or design the homes we live in, that love of symmetry works in our favor. I've gathered a group of living rooms that make symmetry something to strive for.
(I have to admit, I thought of posting this gathering because so many living rooms I had pinned were, you guessed it, symmetrical. I have a problem.)

Which one is your favorite? I'm loving the one with the dark couches and the bright green chairs and accent pillows.
May you be inspired today!
Beautiful images! I love the look of these rooms, but know that within 3 seconds of my boys being present the chairs would be pushed back or turned around and symmetry would be but a memory. That's why I am for balance over symmetry at our house.
ReplyDeleteI am the same way- I love symmetry. I like it in my life, too~ everything perfectly lined up and taking its rightful place. Sadly, that doesn't always happen, does it? Happy Monday- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the black and green room. So homey and family-friendly, especially compared to all the pristine white rooms. I don't like the furniture or accessories in the 2nd pic, but like the asymmetry and extra function with the table and chairs off to the side by the French doors.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Laxsupermom that I'd go crazy trying to keep everything precisely placed. I had chairs that sat out in the middle of a room... kind of as a divider between living and dining with a walkway that needed to stay clear... And it was one of those things that brought out my inner OCD, as NO ONE could figure out the 'right' placement but me, or notice when they were out of place. ;-)
