A Simple Homemade Card

I had to get a couple birthday cards in the mail today, but when I looked through my stash there was nothing appropriate for either my sister-in-law or an elderly gentleman from our church.

So I pulled out some blank cards and made my own!

I started with a blank blue card and white envelope--I found a huge box of them at a thrift store recently. Score!

I layered a ripped piece of dark blue scrapbook paper over a piece of light-and-dark patterned paper, then added a ribbon.

Nothing fancy, but I like the personal touch! Do you ever make cards?

  1. We, especially the kids, make cards all the time...Some fancier and more artistic than others. My parents say they can always tell who has made each one before they open them to see the signature, because they each have their own style. It looks like I need to get them some scrapbooking materials, because yours looks so great, and so not-homemade.

DD and I are putting together some wedding invitations, and planned to start from scratch. But I must admit that we resorted to an invitation kit, and are customizing from there.
