Nursery Progress
We're making progress in the nursery!
My sweet husband cut a million and six pieces of MDF for me. See, I was trying to do this project on the cheap. Riiiiight.... My two pieces of MDF cost just over $30. But today I had to go back to the store for tape, oil-based primer, mineral spirits, liquid nails... Another $40. Sigh!
Today's plan is to prime and paint everything. Hopefully I can get it all done, cuz my clock is ticking! 39 1/2 weeks!
Look! The crib is all white. It's my plan to poly it before putting it back together. We have a cradle, don't worry!
Welcome Spring!
I'm sitting here with the wind rattling the windows and lightning flashing all around. It's Spring in Iowa, alright!
I added some Spring blossoms to my watering can that I found in the barn last spring. I love the look!
I'm not one to change my decor seasonally. I might grow into it, but once I find a look I like, I usually leave it for a couple years. Like this display on a bookshelf I pretend is a hutch in the kitchen. The window and watering can are from the barn, the dessert rose dishes belonged to my Grandma, the birdhouse was a thriftstore find that's at 11 or so years old, and the crooked-looking (I swear it's not!) topiary is something I put together from Michael's back in 2000.
Cuz I know you care! (wink)
I made my son a strawberry-rhubarb crisp for his birthday. It's our rhubarb, but our strawberries aren't producing yet. Can't wait till they do!
How is Spring treating you?

Happy Mother's Day!
Today is a full day.
In the morning we are getting our garden in, with the help of some friends from church. In the evening, my husband and I are going on a date! We'll be dropping the boys off at a friend's house and enjoying some time alone together before Baby 3 arrives. I can't wait!
I'm so thankful to be Mommy to these little loves!
I have projects and gifts for my Mom and Mother-in-Law, but they are both visiting later in the month, so that's when I'll post about it. Don't want to spoil the surprise!
May you be blessed today by a special Mother in your life!

A Spring Garden
My in-laws live in Missouri and their spring is several weeks ahead of ours. We spent the weekend with them and I was able to take some pictures of their pretty landscaping and garden areas.
Now let's peak at the garden!
This little vineyard is on the way to the greenhouse, along with the following dogwood tree. Gorgeous!
Here's Grandma showing the boys how to very carefully walk around the plants.
I can't wait until our garden is producing that much again!
Hope you enjoyed the tour!
